Magic supplies in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California
Magic supplies delivered to Costa Mesa: trick decks, coin gimmicks, close-up props, mentalism tools and stage apparatus.
We post to every address in Orange County and the rest of California — there is no shop floor in Costa Mesa, and no separate pricing by city.
Costa Mesa is small enough that the local magic scene is probably three people who know each other. That is not a disadvantage — it is how most performers learn, and a smaller room is a more honest audience than a big one.
Searches for a magic shop in Costa Mesa mostly turn up party-supply aisles and fancy-dress racks. What a performer actually wants is narrower: a decent deck that does something, a coin gimmick that stands examination, and a close-up mat to work on. That is what this catalogue is — props and gimmicks chosen by what survives performance, not by what fills a shelf.
Costa Mesa
Mentalism
The quietest magic and often the strongest. Forcing dice, a dice box that reads what is shaken inside it, brass mental dice and PK rings let you know a thought, a number or a word without ever touching a deck. It plays to adults, it plays in corporate rooms, and it leaves no prop to blame.

Stage and parlour
Props that read from the back row: appearing and vanishing canes, flower productions, linking rings in 30cm chrome, silks, flash bags and the larger apparatus. Stage material asks more of your staging than your fingers — the method is usually simple and the presentation is the whole job.

Starting out in Costa Mesa
If you are starting, the honest advice is to buy three things and work them until they are invisible, rather than twenty and perform none of them. A Svengali deck, a set of sponge balls and a decent close-up mat will carry you further in six months than a drawer of apparatus.

Where to buy magic tricks in Costa Mesa
There are three places to buy magic tricks in Costa Mesa: a toy or party shop, a general marketplace, or a magic shop that sells nothing else. The first sells props that break, the second rarely says whether instructions are included, and the third is what this is. Nothing is listed here without saying what arrives and what it is for.

Magic in the West
The west coast magic scene leans close-up and comedy, and Los Angeles has the Magic Castle pulling performers through it. Expect strong local competition and a correspondingly good standard of amateur work.
