Magic supplies in Berkeley, Alameda County, California
Everything in the shop ships to Berkeley — card magic, coin magic, mentalism, stage props and the gimmicks that make them work.
We post to every address in Alameda County and the rest of California — there is no shop floor in Berkeley, and no separate pricing by city.
Berkeley is small enough that the local magic scene is probably three people who know each other. That is not a disadvantage — it is how most performers learn, and a smaller room is a more honest audience than a big one.
Whether you are after card tricks, coin magic, mentalism props or something for a stage set, the range in Berkeley is the same range everyone else gets. Trick decks, marked decks, coin gimmicks, forcing dice, sponge balls, cups, silks, canes and the gimmicks behind them.

Card magic
Trick decks do the heavy lifting while you learn: a Svengali deck forces a card without a single sleight, a marked deck tells you what they took, and a stripper deck lets you find it blind. Most working repertoires are still mostly cards, and most of them start here.
Berkeley
Mentalism
The quietest magic and often the strongest. Forcing dice, a dice box that reads what is shaken inside it, brass mental dice and PK rings let you know a thought, a number or a word without ever touching a deck. It plays to adults, it plays in corporate rooms, and it leaves no prop to blame.

Starting out in Berkeley
The first year is about repetition, not acquisition. Pick one effect, perform it a hundred times for real people, and only then buy the second one. Everything in the beginner collection is chosen to survive that kind of use.

Where to buy magic tricks in Berkeley
Look for a magic shop in Berkeley and you will turn up costume shops and toy sections. Neither stocks a Svengali deck or a close-up mat worth owning. The props a performer actually wants come by post, which is why every listing here says what is in the box, whether instructions come with it, and how hard the thing is to do.

Magic in the West
The west coast magic scene leans close-up and comedy, and Los Angeles has the Magic Castle pulling performers through it. Expect strong local competition and a correspondingly good standard of amateur work.
